Important: Choose Your Model Carefully

The LR5-LAN Series includes two dedicated model types that are not interchangeable. Confirm the communication protocols required by your system before ordering:

  • Ethernet Model: Supports Socket, HTTP(S), and Modbus/TCP. (Does not support EtherNet/IP)
  • EtherNet/IP Model: Supports EtherNet/IP only. (Does not support HTTP(S) or Modbus/TCP)

If you are unsure which model your system requires, review the "Supported Functions" table below or contact us before placing your order.

Before
Industrial PC–based systems required digital output interface boards, increasing component count and complicating parts inventory and delivery management.
After
Supports control via HTTP(S), Modbus/TCP, or EtherNet/IP communication. The signal tower and buzzer can be controlled directly over the network, eliminating the need for output interface boards. Browser-based configuration further reduces design and maintenance workload.

 

Ethernet Model (LR5-LAN Model)

Direct LAN control from an industrial PC / PLC.

This model supports HTTP(S), Modbus/TCP, and Socket communication. It does not support EtherNet/IP — if your system requires EtherNet/IP, use the EtherNet/IP Model.

After logging into the LR5-LAN through a web browser, users can select desired operations from the setup screen to automatically display control commands. This allows developers to confirm command behaviour without having to consult manuals, reducing software development time.

- Sample source code

Sample source code for LR5-LAN is available on the product web page. Multiple programming languages for Windows and Linux are provided, allowing quick testing in your preferred environment.

- Extensive preset flashing patterns

Seven preset LED flashing patterns are available. With command control alone, flashing operation is possible, eliminating the need for clock pulse settings in the PLC.

This model supports EtherNet/IP only. It does not support HTTP(S), Modbus/TCP, or Socket communication — if your system requires those protocols, use the Ethernet Model.

Register the EDS file containing configuration definitions in your PLC tool software to complete setup easily and reduce programming time and effort.

1. Set network parameters (e.g., IP addresses).  2. Import the EDS file into PLC configuration software.  3. Apply device allocation and related settings to the PLC.  4. Control via EtherNet/IP

Higher-level system notification

Status and alarm indications from SCADA or production management systems can be displayed using standard protocols. By displaying alerts not only on monitors but also through familiar Signal Towers, on-site operators can recognise issues immediately, helping prevent missed alerts and improve responsiveness.

Host device connection monitoring

Connectivity with the host device can be monitored. When communication with the host is lost, the LED unit provides an alert, enabling network heartbeat monitoring.

Reduced wiring work

Reduce Labour Hours

Power is supplied at 24V DC, and the unit is controlled through an RJ-45 connector with a LAN cable. Wiring work can be reduced compared with individual wire leads.

Easy Setup

By using the optional ADP-001C, power can be supplied from an AC outlet. If 24V DC is not available, the ADP-001C can be added easily without electrical installation work.

【Changes in version 1.01】

Status Acquisition Function

    • In status acquisition via HTTP commands, we corrected an issue where responses in JSON format could not be correctly interpreted by a JSON parser.

Web Settings Screen

    • Added a limit to the number of password retry attempts on the Login screen.
      If an incorrect password is entered 10 consecutive times, login will be disabled until the unit is rebooted or 10 minutes have elapsed.
    • Changed the restrictions for passwords that can be configured on the User Authentication Settings screen.
      The password length has been changed to a minimum of 8 characters and a maximum of 64 characters, and the allowable characters have been changed to half-width alphanumeric characters / half-width spaces / symbols.
      Since the above restrictions apply when setting a new password, the password currently in use can continue to be used as-is.
      However, if you are currently using a password that does not meet the above restrictions, please consider changing your password to enhance security.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR DATA DOWNLOAD

1.Ownership of rights

Copyright and other intellectual property rights in the data downloadable from this site belong to PATLITE CORPORATION (“PATLITE”) or the right holders from whom PATLITE has obtained necessary licenses for the use thereof.

2.Use of data

Users of this site, who are also registered members of PATLITE Web Member, (“User”) may use the data downloaded from this site (“Downloaded Data”) free of charge and on a non-exclusive basis, solely in accordance with these Terms and Conditions for Data Download (“Terms”).

3.Purpose

The data disclosed on this site (“Disclosed Data”) and Downloaded Data may be used only for the following purposes:

  1. Messages, melodies, alarm sounds, and other audio data (“Audio Data”) or software data (“Software Data”). Users of PATLITE products may transfer Audio Data and/or Software Data to PATLITE products and run such data on PATLITE products only.
  2. CAD data of PATLITE (“CAD Data”) or PATLITE product specification data (“Products Specification Data”). Users of PATLITE products may consult such data for the purpose of repair or renewal of PATLITE products. Prospective buyers of PATLITE products may also use the data for evaluation.

4.Prohibited acts

  1. Downloaded Data may not be reproduced, modified, altered, decomposed, disclosed, replicated elsewhere, assigned, or loaned in whole or in part.
  2. Audio Data must not be used for any purpose other than those stated in Article 3; Audio Data must not be used with non-PATLITE products.
  3. Software Data must not be used for any purpose other than those stated in Article 3; Software Data must not be used with non-PATLITE products.

5.Notes on Disclosed Data and Downloaded Data

Please acknowledge the following before using Disclosed Data and/or Downloaded Data:

  1. Not all models released by PATLITE in the past are disclosed as Disclosed Data on the site.
  2. Some products included in Disclosed Data may have been discontinued or may no longer be available for sale.
  3. Disclosed Data reflects the state of products at the time of their release.
  4. PATLITE reserves the right to determine the type and content of Disclosed Data and the period of availability.
  5. Software Data is not supported by all computer appliances; some may not import the data in full or in part.
  6. CAD Data do not guarantee the specifications and/or performance of the corresponding products.
  7. PATLITE does not warrant that the values extracted from the drawings in the CAD Data match actual products.
  8. The CAD Data is provided in an intermediate file format for exchanging CAD data, which may not be supported by all applications. Some CAD applications may fail to import the data in full or in part.
  9. If the User intends to export or provide Downloaded Data to non-residents, they must comply with the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act of Japan, the US Export Administration Regulations, and other applicable laws, and complete all necessary procedures.

6.Downloading CAD data

  1. PATLITE does not guarantee the consistency of values extracted from CAD drawings with actual products. For specifications and dimensions, refer to product specifications.
  2. 2D data is provided in DXF format (Ver.R12/L12).
  3. 3D data is provided in the following formats:
    A. IGES;
    B. STEP;
    C. PARASOLID.

7.Downloading Product Specification Data

Safety precautions for PATLITE products are included in the Product Specification Data or in separate hard-copy attachments. However, only product specifications are available on this site, and safety information in such attachments may not be provided online. These precautions may change according to legal requirements.

8.Termination or change of downloading service

Services on this site may be withdrawn or changed without notice. PATLITE reserves the right to revise the Terms without notice. Any revised Terms will apply immediately upon announcement on this site.

9.Termination of utilizing agreement

PATLITE may terminate the agreement if a User violates the Terms, commits any act against public order or laws, defames PATLITE, or damages PATLITE’s services. In such cases, the User must immediately cease using all Downloaded Data. This provision also applies if the User loses membership status.

10.Limitation of Liability

PATLITE is not liable for any damages resulting from the use or inability to use services on this site (including but not limited to data loss, suspended operation, and loss of business information), even if the risk of damage or third-party claims was known in advance.
